Your own exclusive private carriage

For the ultimate great train experience, travel in one of the exclusive private carriages available for charter on The Ghan, Indian Pacific or The Overland (Adelaide-Melbourne). For little more than the regular fare, you can share the experience in luxury with family or friends.

The Chairman's carriage accommodates eight guests in two twin and two double cabins along with a private lounge area including CD and DVD entertainment. We will even get you started for this special occasion with a selection of wine, beer and soft drinks. There are two other Private Carriages to select.

Platinum Service offers a new level of comfort to elevate your onboard experience to a truly global standard of luxury travel. Picture yourself waking up in the comfort of your own luxuriously appointed private cabin, as you draw the blinds to reveal the first sunlight of the day reflecting on the red earth of Central Australia.

Platinum Service is available from April to October on The Ghan only and then November to March on selected departures of The Ghan, Indian Pacific and The Southern Spirit.

Platinum Service includes:

• Your cabin is a private lounge during the day. By night, your private cabin converts to your choice of comfortable double or twin beds with quality bedding
• An oversized panoramic window in your cabin offers you a unique perspective on the ever changing Australian landscape
• Set the tone, dim the lights to your personal preference and settle in for the night, with in-cabin entertainment
• All meals served in the elegant Queen Adelaide Restaurant Car, including a la carte dinners.
• Your Cabin includes full ensuite facilities with complimentary toiletries
• All Platinum Service guests receive refreshments on arrival, morning or afternoon and complimentary nightcaps served into their cabins.
• Welcome reception and full access to Outback Explorer Lounge Car
